Wildlife conference to be held by Secret World Wildlife Rescue

-

Secret World Wildlife Rescue is holding its first conference at the Oaktree Arena in Highbridge this coming weekend.

This two-day conference, organised and hosted by Secret World Wildlife Rescue, will look at some of the issues facing British wild animals and consider the latest techniques in treatment, rehabilitation and release.

The theme for Saturday 9th February is ‘Caring for Wildlife in the Wild’ when speakers will include Lucy Bearman-Brown, Geoff Edmonds, Alick Simmons and Richard Delahay.

Sunday 10th February will be ‘Caring for Rescued British Wildlife’ – and speakers will be Tom Dutton, Alex Barlow, Liz Mullineaux and Andy Parr.

Attending on the Saturday only costs £80, Sunday only costs £80, and both days costs £150. Delegates can attend either one or both days.

Pauline Kidner, founder of Secret World, said: “Our wildlife in Britain is under constant pressure from environmental impacts, human behaviours, changes in legislation and attempts to control disease in livestock.”

“As a result, wildlife casualty animals are frequently brought into captivity, where their assessment and care must be carefully considered in order to avoid further suffering.”

“We have some fantastic speakers and over 100 delegates from all over the country are attending.”
