A group of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge students have set up a young enterprise company selling gift jars in memory of a local boy who lost his battle with cancer.
Pupils from King Alfred School Academy have formed Jaroholic, selling gift jars, in memory of former King Alfred student, Joe Laoutaris, who sadly lost his battle with cancer at age 12 in 2015.
The group is fundraising for Love Musgrove in his memory, and is helping the children’s ward at Taunton’s Musgrove Hospital.
The unique gift jars contain a range of contents including brownie mix and chocolate sweets.
Jonathan Gaskell, head of sixth form at The King Alfred School, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a brilliant little firm with a big heart in memory of a former student.”
“We are delighted they are doing so well and they will go far.”
At their first event selling their gift jars in January, the eat:Vegan festival in Weston-super-Mare, all of their gift jars sold out two hours before it drew to a close.
The company is developing its product line further before the next leg of the eat:Festivals which will take place in Orchard Shopping Centre in Taunton on February 9th.
