Volunteers got ‘into the thick of it’ at Highbridge’s Apex Park this week when they cleared brambles to promote more hedge growth.

The group of local residents and council staff spent several hours on Wednesday (January 16th) clearing the southern area of the park, as pictured here.

“Members of The Friends of Apex Park, along with Sedgemoor District Council’s Park Officers, took part,” said council spokeswoman Claire Faun.

“They spent some time cutting back brambles along the southern boundary edge of Apex Park to allow the hedge to grow.”

“The work was carried out as part of the Sedgemoor Ecologist’s recommendations within the Hedgerow Management Plan for Apex Park. Another cutting back day is being arranged.”
