Well-known Highbridge resident Terry Rickard has taken part in a sponsored head shave, raising thousands of pounds for charity.
Terry has been growing his hair for some time under the understanding among his friends that when sponsorship funds reach £1,000 he would ‘brave the shave’.
In fact, he has done far better than that, because the amount of sponsorship he has raised has reached £3,200 with more coming in.
Terry’s company, Burnham Waste, has pledged to match-fund the sponsorship money whatever the amount, so at this point the Little Princess Trust stands to gain a huge £6,000.
Terry’s head was shaved at a social evening held in the Basonbridge Inn in East Huntspill by Highbridge hairdresser Sandra Handell from Sandra’s hairdressers, as pictured here.
Terry is well known locally for running his company Burnham Waste, as a former Station Officer at Burnham Fire Station, and for being a parish councillor.
