Burnham and Berrow Golf Club rises into UK’s top 30 courses in prestigious ranking

-

Burnham and Berrow Golf Club has this week been named the top course in the south west and has risen into the top 30 in the UK.

The Burnham-On-Sea championship course has stepped into the Top 30 of Golf Monthly’s Top 100 golf courses in the UK & Ireland ranking following the latest assessment of its facilities.

This club says the achievement comes amid its ongoing work to enhance the course, provide top hospitality and upgrade its on-site accommodation.

Burnham and Berrow Golf Club’s Managing Secretary Karen Drake told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “When I first joined the club five years ago we set out some ambitious goals and one of those was to make that small, but very hard jump into the top 30 golf courses in the UK & Ireland, so naturally this is a very special moment for our members and hard-working staff.”

“We are fortunate to have a thriving membership that is very progressive, and we are constantly looking at ways in which we can improve the club for the benefit of everyone.  Now we have reached the top 30 we will continue to invest in the club with the hope of reaching a higher position in the future.”

Burnham and Berrow was founded in 1890 and offers 27 holes of golf that stretch along the coastline. The club’s Championship Course has been the venue for several leading golf events, including the British Ladies’ Amateur Championships, the Brabazon Trophy, and the British Boys and English Championships.

Golfers looking for golf breaks can now take advantage of the newly-renovated Dormy House which is located right next to the clubhouse and can accommodate up to 12 guests.
