Local groups receive boost from Bridgwater Classic and Vintage Vehicle Club

-

Bridgwater Classic and Vintage Vehicle Club has donated funds to two local charities in Burnham-On-Sea this week.

During a meeting at The Lighthouse Pub in Burnham, St Margaret’s Hospice and Devon & Somerset Air Ambulance each received a cheque for £450.

As a bonus, after this year’s vehicle show at Beachside Holiday park, the air ambulance also already received a cheque for £816, as we recently reported here.

This means that this year the club has so far presented a total of £1,716 to local good causes.

Air ambulance fundraiser Colin Thomas thanked the group and explained how busy the recently-upgraded air ambulance has been how expensive it was to operate.

Teresa Gill from St Margaret’s Hospice added: “We are so fortunate to receive this donation from the Bridgwater Classic and Vintage Vehicle Club.  It costs £500 per day for one patient to receive specialist care at our in-patient unit in Taunton.  I would like to thank the club for their generosity.”
