Burnham-On-Sea Medical Centre is set get a major £130,000 refurbishment of its facilities.
Built in 1987, this is the first time the medical centre in Love Lane has had a full refurbishment of its clinical facilities.
Wall and ceiling décor in consulting and treatment rooms is to be improved – along with flooring, examination couches and sink units being brought up-to-date.
This will not only improve the centre’s appearance but also ensure that all surfaces are easier to be cleaned and maintained in line with all current infection control standards.
There will be some temporary disruption to consulting rooms whilst the refurbishments take place, but the medical practice and its services will otherwise be unaffected.
Dr Mike Wolfman, Senior Partner, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This refurbishment is necessary and I would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience it might cause.”
“However, once completed we expect the clinical consulting rooms to offer a noticeable improvement of environment to both our patients and staff.”
Work on the refurbishment is underway and will be completed early in the New Year.
The medical centre’s refurbishment is being funded in the main by the Partners of the Practice with a Minor Improvement Grant from NHS England.
