£50,000 of counterfeit goods seized at Brean outdoor market
Counterfeit goods worth £50,000 have been seized by Somerset Trading Standards Officers at a market in Brean.
Trading Standards Officers announced on Friday (October 28th) that they had shut down two stalls at Brean outdoor market that had been selling fake DVDs and CDs.
They also swooped on a third stall offering labelled clothing and took away a large amount of its stock.
The Trading Standards inspection came after complaints from other traders about the quality of the products being sold.
A County Council spokesman said that the stallholders face up to ten years in prison or an unlimited fine if prosecuted.
