Big top goes up as Sanders Garden World hosts Christmas circus
A troop of circus performers who are hosting Christmas shows at Sanders Garden World, near Burnham-On-Sea, have been busy putting up their big top tent as their 28-day run gets underway.
Clowns, trapeze artists, fire eaters, African dancers and acrobats from Circus Americano have been assembling and decorating a 12 metre high tent at the garden centre.
The tent seats more than 650 people and has a circumference of 32 metres. It has taken two days to construct and dress.
Circus Americano, which does not use animals, are at Sanders Garden World for 28 days from Monday December 5th until December 31st. The troop is hosting two shows a day at 4pm and 7pm.
Tickets, priced £8 for adults, £6 for children and OAPs, or £24 for a family of four with extra child’s tickets costing £5 each, are on sale from the garden centre or by calling 01278 761 111.
Members of the troop will also be hosting a number of children’s circus workshops, which will take place every weekend in the festive month from Saturday, December 10th. Tickets cost £4.95 per child. Booking is advisable as numbers are limited.
