Burnham-On-Sea police shut B3140 for four hours after car accident
Three people were injured on Thursday night (December 15th) when a horrific crash took place at the junction of the B3140 and Edithmead Lane on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea.
The B3140 was closed for more than four hours after the two-car collision, pictured above, at 8.35pm.
A police spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Two people were taken to hospital – one to Musgrove and the other to Weston General – with serious injuries, while a third had only minor injuries.”
The B3140, the main road into Burnham-On-Sea from the M5 motorway, was closed until 12.40am on Friday morning while police, paramedics and fire crews attended the scene.
One fire crew from Burnham was joined by two crews from Weston to release a trapped casualty.
Road blocks, one of which is shown above, were put in place at the Edithmead roundabout and also at the Tesco roundabout, leaving motorists to have to find other routes into town.
