Two arrested after night-time ‘disturbance’ on Burnham seafront
Two people were arrested and a police officer was alleged to have been assaulted during a ‘disturbance’ on Burnham-On-Sea seafront on Tuesday night, December 20th.
Four police vehicles were called to the scene, outside Chaplins pub, and two people – believed to be from the Burnham area – were arrested.
A spokesman from Avon and Somerset Constabulary told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were called to a disturbance at 8.58pm. Two people were arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and assaulting a police officer.”
Traffic came to a standstill along the seafront for 20 minutes – as pictured above – while police dealt with the incident.
