Young girl hurt in car accident near Burnham-On-Sea

A six-year-old was rushed to Weston General hospital on Friday night (December 30th) after a car accident on the A38 near to Burnham-On-Sea.

The girl, who was being driven home following a trip to the circus at nearby Sanders Garden World, was treated by paramedics at the scene for neck pains.

An eyewitness told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “She was given a neck collar and then put on a board to keep her body straight, before being moved into an ambulance.”

She was travelling in one of two cars involved in a collision near the Fox and Goose public house at around 6pm.

One of the vehicles is believed to have swerved and abruptly stopped to avoid something on the road – but the car behind did not stop in time and collided into the back of the vehicle.

One of the motorists was given an alcohol breath test by police at the scene.
