Crime-busting musical ‘Tricksters’ comes to Burnham-On-Sea

-

Elderly people in Burnham-On-Sea are to be given the chance to see a musical which is aimed at helping them not to fall victim to crime.

As part of a new ‘Safer Homes in Somerset’ initiative, a musical called ‘Tricksters’ is being performed in Burnham and across the county from February 27th.

The production involves actors telling the story of a pensioner called George, who is a victim of a distraction burglary.

Tricksters will be performed on February 27th at 10am in the Princess Hall, Princess Street, Burnham-On-Sea.

The production is laced with songs and ends with a rousing sing-a-long of wartime favourites.

Those who attend will also have an opportunity to view a number of exhibitions and displays designed to help improve the safety and awareness of senior citizens.

PC Brett Gitsham said: “Tricksters is a fun way of getting across a very serious message.”

“Unfortunately all too often people fail to take note of very simple crime prevention advice which could really stop them becoming a victim of crime. Hopefully Tricksters will encourage people to help us protect them.”

The performances are supported by a number of organisations including the local community safety partnerships, Age Concern and Somerset Primary Care Trusts.
