Three Somerset art groups have teamed up to raise £400 for Burnham-On-Sea’s BARB Search & Rescue.
Members of Wembdon Painting Group, Wembdon Camera Club and Somerset Photo Walks groups set up a stall at the recent Wembdon Village Day and sold a number of pieces of their work to raise funds for the Burnham rescue charity.
Representatives from the three groups met with volunteers from BARB Search & Rescue earlier this month where they presented the cheque to them at a ceremony at their seafront station.
A spokesman for BARB, which operates two rescue hovercrafts and inshore rescue boats, said: “We are very grateful to these groups for this kind donation towardes our life-saving work.”
“We are a small independent charity that is dependent on donations to keep running, so donations like this are very gratefully received.”
