Highbridge’s new £6million Travelodge hotel is set to welcome its first guests at the start of December.
The new hotel in Siger Drive, off Bennett Road, will formally open on November 5th, when the first bookings will be taken, it has been confirmed this week in a change to the plans for bookings to start in December.
To be called the ‘Highbridge Burnham-On-Sea Travelodge’, it will have 75 rooms, a bar, a cafe.
The hotel has been designed in the company’s latest contemporary design and all family, double and accessible rooms will feature king-size beds and modern facilities such as USB charging points.
As we reported here last week, the hotel is current recruiting 26 new staff across all positions.
The ‘Highbridge Burnham-On-Sea Travelodge’ is one of 11 hotels that the budget hotel chain is opening in the lead up to Christmas, collectively representing an investment of £79million and creating 260 new jobs in total.
The new sites are at East Grinstead, Gainsborough, Camborne Redruth, Chester, Solihull, York Monks Cross, Highbridge Burnham-On-Sea, Lincoln, Walsall, Ashford and Bury St Edmonds.

Travelodge describes the new hotel on its website: “Our Highbridge Burnham-On-Sea hotel is the perfect seaside location getaway, with sandy Burnham beach less than 4 miles away and plenty of other beaches nearby. Bust out those sunglasses and have a wander along Burnham seafront, and don’t miss the Burnham-On-Sea pier – an Edwardian beauty and the shortest in Britain.”
