High-tech gadget will help Burnham RNLI keep a keen eye on the weather

Members of Berrow Social Club have presented Burnham-On-Sea RNLI with a new electronic weather station.

The high-tech gadget was handed over to Lifeboat Operations Manager Ricky Holmes during a brief presentation held on Saturday following a fundraising quiz run by club members Ray Hancock and Mick Fellowes.

Ricky said: "Thank you for this wonderful gift, which will enable us to keep an accurate assessment of prevailing wind speed and direction from the boathouse crew room."

"As you know, lifeboat crew are volunteers and training is expensive. By presenting this, you have released more money for training, and without the dedication from people like you, we wouldn’t be able to keep running our boats."

Our photo shows club members Ray Skelding and Ray Lambert presenting the weather station to Ricky Holmes.
