in a search of several miles of Bridgwater Bay on Wednesday November
1st after a red flare was spotted by members of the public hanging over
the sea.

after a 32ft yacht got into difficulty at Gore Bell near Hinkley Point.

INFLATABLE TOYS SPARK LAUNCH

unattended inflatable rubber rings floating in the sea off Berrow beach
sparked the third launch of Burnham-On-Sea's RNLI lifeboat crew in just
four days at 3pm on Tuesday afternoon (July 18th).

swam across to Stert Island at low tide.

RNLI's Staines Whitfield lifeboat was called out by Swansea Coastguard
at 11:45am on Friday August 12th to help a 14ft fishing boat in the
River Parrett. As the casualty was holding off from a lee shore, it
was necessary for the safety of both vessels to tow the boat clear.

a yacht ran aground in the River Parrett. The D-Class and Atlantic 75

21-foot motor cruiser was engulfed with smoke off the Burnham-On-Sea
coastline after an electrical fault started a fire on board. The RNLI
was called to the scene and towed the boat to safety. There were concerns

Jefferson, the Burnham D class lifeboat, was launched on June 22 at
14:35 after a beach warden reported seeing what appeared to be a group
of people at the waters edge at Brean.
The Coastguard was alerted, and in turn it called out the RNLI to liaise

LAUNCHED IN RESCUE OF JET SKIER

crew of the Elsie Francis II, Burnham-On-Sea RNLI's D-Class lifeboat,
were called out on Sunday 20th March to rescue the young female rider
of a jet ski in difficulties, in the sea, near the Burnham lighthouse.
The jet ski, whilst cruising in company with another, suffered an acute
engine failure, and was in danger of sinking. Full

OF 'BODY' SPARKS LAUNCH

Burnham-On-Sea's
D-Class lifeboat was called out on Friday February 25th at 8.42am after
a resident reported to the Coastguard seeing what appeared to be a 'body'
floating in Bridgwater Bay to the north of Stert Island. The lifeboat
was launched and the pbject was found to be a large log of wood. Local
police had been alerted by a walker along the seafront that a suspicious

LIFEBOAT CALLED TO SPEEDBOAT

Burnham's
D-Class lifeboat was called out on Thusday September 9 by HM Coastguard
to help a disabled speedboat approximately 600 yards from the town's
jetty.
Although the crew were paged at 17:13, and the boat launched immediately,
the speedboat owner had managed to reach the shore under his own power
by the time the D-Class reached the jetty. Full

RESCUED FROM BRIDGWATER BAY

Burnham-On-Sea's D-Class lifeboat was called out on both Friday
September 3 and Saturday September 4 to rescue dogs in Bridgwater Bay
amid concerns that the owners would enter the water to rescue their
pets. On both
occasions the lifeboat was quickly returned to the RNLI station so that
it was ready for any further launches.

early hours of Tuesday August 24th after a man entered Bridgwater Bay
and threatened to commit suicide.

A speedboat with three crew onboard was helped to shore by Burnham's
Lifeboat on Tuesday night, August 17, after the craft lost power and

to help in the search for two people reported missing in the sea near

HELPS DINGHY IN RIVER BRUE

Burnham-On-Sea RNLI's D class lifeboat was launched on June
11th shortly after 16:15 to aid a dinghy in the River Brue. The sailor,
who was returning to Burnham-On-Sea's Sailing Club, had lost an oar.

LIFEBOATS ASSIST MAN OVERBOARD

The Burnham-on-Sea 'D-Class' lifeboat was launched at approximately
18:55 hrs, followed shortly after by the Staines Whitfield to assist
in the recovery of a man who had fallen overboard from an anchored yacht.
The yacht's owner, a 50 year old male, had apparently slipped over the
side while recovering his anchor, and was unable to clamber back on

its first shout. The B795 lifeboat was on a routine navigational exercise
to Minehead when it was diverted to two adults and two dogs cut off
