Burnham-On-Sea’s food festival organisers are hosting a cookery masterclass to give residents advice on how to cook with vegetables.

Beverley and Sarah Milner-Simonds from Eat:Burnham have teamed up with Riverford Organic Farmers to put on a two-hour, hands-on cookery class which aims to give residents plenty of ‘veg inspiration’.

Riverford’s Patrick Blanford said: “Together we’ll turn a brimming box of veg, fresh from our farm, into an inspirational organic feast.”

“You’ll get stuck in, learning lots of essential skills – such as the best way to slice greens and segment citrus, and how to make sure your onions never catch in the pan – and we hope you’ll leave inspired to cook with a veg box at home.”

“It’s very relaxed – people of all abilities are welcome, and we keep the classes small to give plenty of chance for questions and individual guidance. After the class, we’ll all sit down to enjoy the meal over a glass of organic wine or beer.”

The class is happening at the Community Centre in Burnham-on-Sea on Wednesday 23rd May at 6pm whcih will be a warm-up for Eat:Burnham on the Saturday.

Places are proced at £25, for the class, an organic supper and a drink. Please note you must be 18+ to attend the class. Book via Eventbrite here.
