Two Burnham-On-Sea charities are set to benefit from a fundraising walk taking place this weekend.

The ‘West Country Parks Walk for Charity’ is taking place from 8.00am on Saturday 9th June, starting at Paddock Park in Worle.

The volunteers from West Country Parks will be walking a total of 27.4 miles as they visit each of their nine holiday and residential parks in order to raise funds for BARB Search and Rescue and In Charley’s Memory. They are also supporting Hillview Juvenile Carnival Club.

BARB operates two life-saving rescue hovercrafts and an inshore rescue boat in Burnham and relies solely on donations to operate and the time of their dedicated volunteers.

In Charley’s Memory’ was founded in memory of Charley Marks, who took his own life in September 2014 and the charity works to support young people with mental health issues by raising the profile of mental health and providing support services.

For more information, or to donate, please visit our JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/west-country-parks and sponsorship Forms are also available from all the parks’ receptions.

If you would like to join in the walk and take part in the West Country Parks Walk For Charity, there’s still time by emailing caroline@westcountryparks.co.uk
