A Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser is set to take on a 100-mile fitness challenge this weekend in aid of Children’s Hospice South West.

Sonny Topham, 27, a personal trainer, is following a gruelling training regime in readiness for the 100-mile walking and running challenge this Saturday (July 28th).

Sonny walked up and down Brean Down 100 times in a day in his previous challenge last year, pictured right.

“My goal this time is to complete ten loops of a ten-mile course around the Burnham area by foot, with a mixture of running and walking,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

He will be cheered off by supporters at 8.30am on Saturday outside the Bay View cafe on Burnham seafront.

As shown on the map below, each of the ten loops of the course will take him through Highbridge, Brent Knoll, Berrow and Burnham-On-Sea.

“One of my constant goals in life is to positively help as many people as I can. I love doing challenges that show there are no limits. They are only in your mind.”

“Through completing a fitness challenge of this magnitude, I am hoping I will be able to raise lots of money for The South West Children’s Hospice,” he added.

“The money kindly donated will help the hospice provide care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family across the South West.”

“The care they offer ranges from respite and short breaks, to emergency care, palliative care and end of life care – a really good cause.”

Richard Curtis of Cardea Massage will be on hand to support Sonny during the challenge by giving him a massage after every 10 mile loop.
