Snow temporarily closed many businesses in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge on Friday as Storm Emma left its wintry mark.

Many shops were shut for the whole day as staff were unable to travel on roads left under several inches of snow and ice.

Several businesses cleared pavements of snow outside their shops and the Town Council and Sedgemoor District Council also helped in several locations.

However, grit that had been spread along the High Street on Thursday was ineffective in keeping roads clear, as pictured here.
