A rise in temperatures led to a rapid thaw of lying snow across the Burnham-On-Sea area on Sunday as Springtime weather arrived.

Temperatures reached 10C in Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday, which was considerably milder than last week’s icy conditions.

Burnham’s beach and seafront were busy with walkers enjoying a day of sunshine as most of the snow and ice melted away.

Last week, the ‘Beast From the East’ left the Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge area shivering with sub-zero temperatures and biting easterly winds.

This week, the Burnham-On-Sea area will see a mixture of sunshine and showers with milder westerly breezes and daytime temperatures reaching 11C.
