A Burnham-On-Sea fundraiser is to have his head shaved this weekend to raise money for a charity close to his heart.

Ron Harris will be raising funds for Macmillan Nurses, who have been looking after his wife as she battles stomach cancer.

He said: “My dear wife, Fran, has been diagnosed with stomach cancer and if her chemo’ goes well, she will have to have her whole stomach removed.”

“The Macmillan Nurses and Oncology staff at the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Hospital have been so kind and supportive to us both during this stressful time.”

“I would like to do something to help the people, who help the people suffering from cancer.”

“So, on Saturday 20th October I will be ‘Braving the Shave’ in the courtyard next to KDS in Victoria Street, Burnham-On-Sea at 11.00am, so that Fran and I will be bald together.”

“Teas, coffees and refreshments – sponsored by Tesco – will be served in KDS from 10am onwards and a small donation would be appreciated to MacMillan Nurses.”

“You would be most welcome to come and watch. Thank you all so much for your kind donations, and the support and kindness you have shown Fran.” Click here for Ron’s fundraising page.
