dismay as Highbridge Post Office announces it will shut down
Mayor has expressed his "grave disappointment" at the
Post Office's decision by to shut Highbridge Post Office at the
end of April.
Post Office in Church Street had initially been due to close last
October but, as we reported here
last year, the Postmaster agreed to stay on for six months to allow
time for a new operator to be found.
the Post Office said on Wednesday (March 28th) that no new operator
has been found and therefore the premises will be closing.
to Burnham-On-Sea.com, Post Office spokeswoman Sheila Tapster said:
"The postmaster for Highbridge has resigned and the premises,
which we do not own, is to close on Wednesday 25th April."
