Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge gymnasts from Monarchs Gymnastics Club have celebrated a successful year at their annual Presentation Night.

The young gymnasts, their families and coaches gathered at the Oaktree Arena in Highbridge for the special evening.

Compere Paul Shepherd and coach Leonie Warburton gave a presentation looking back at the competitions and fun events that the club has participated in during the past year.

The main award of the night were the Neville Jones Trophies for the most outstanding gymnasts in the NDP group which is for the level 1 to 5 regional and national level. Winners were Harvey Crook and Erin Morgan.

“Both of these gymnasts have worked extremely hard all year round and achieved more than would be expected of them,” said a spokeswoman. “All the awards were very well deserved.”

The winners were: The Merrett Award – Olivia Reed; Sportsmanship Award – FIG Group – Gina Cumberlidge; NDP Group – Faith Hands.

Gymnasts Choice in the FIG Group was Olivia Reed; while the NDP Group was Holly Phillips.

The Attendance Award in the FIG Group went to Heather Reed while the NDP Group winner was Louie Reed.

Best Newcomer was Doris Fields. The Most Improved Partnership in the FIG Group was Toby Baker And Jack Hunt; and in the NDP Group the winners were Rachel Medhurst and Naomi Lourenco.
