New search of Burnham-On-Sea lake in hunt for missing Dean Tate

Police divers carried out a new underwater search of the lakes at Burnham-On-Sea Holiday Village over the weekend as part of their ongoing search for missing Burnham-On-Sea man Dean Tate.

As pictured here, police divers spent several hours on Sunday (April 8th) searching the banks and waters of the popular fishing lakes at the holiday park.

A Police underwater search unit vehicle was parked at the holiday park for much of the day.

The Police team launched a rigid inflatable boat onto the lakes and then scoured the waters - with no breakthrough in the six-week investigation.

Dean Tate, 40, was last seen at TA8s bar in Pier Street, Burnham-On-Sea at 2am on Saturday, February 24th after earlier visiting the nearby Somerset and Dorset pub.

Signals from his mobile phone were last picked up at around 3am on February 24th and he has not been seen since, which his family says is out of character.

Dean's partner made an emotional TV plea for help last week as a £1,000 reward for information about Dean Tate was offered.

Members of the 'Find Dean Tate' community group started the fundraising campaign. Accessed here, it aims to raise £1,000 as a reward that will be given to a person or people that provide concrete evidence as to what has happened to Dean.

The money will only be given to a person or people that provide concrete evidence as to what has happened to Dean. Any additional money will be split between various organisations who have assisted in the search for Dean.

Local Police, fire, Coastguard, BARB, RNLI and other volunteer crews have also been involved in a search for Mr Tate to try and find him.

Police are still appealing for anyone who has seen him, or to contact them.

If you see Dean, or have information which could help Burnham-On-Sea Police, call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5218042329.

Dean is white, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build with short dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Police say that he was last seen he was wearing a black short-sleeved T-shirt with badges on the arms, black jeans and black Nike trainers. He also wore a heavy brown leather Superdry jacket.

These photos of Dean were released by Police last month in the hope that he would be recognised and found.

If you see Dean, or have information which could help the Police, call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5218042329.
