school visits help promote King Alfred School open evening
King Alfred School is throwing open its doors for the whole community
to meet its inspiring students and staff this month.
school is holding an open evening on Thursday 20th September with
a chance to talk to students and staff, sample free food in the
restaurant, and to take part in a treasure hunt with prizes for
week, students have been going back to their old primary schools
to give out flyers promoting the event, including at Brent Knoll
School, as pictured here, where King Alfred School Principal Nathan
Jenkins also discussed the opportunities with them.
school has become one of Somersets most improved and has a
positive momentum with much-improved GCSE exam results and with
a new Principal and a raft of good news behind it.
recent months the school has has an encouraging Ofsted visit, various
site improvements, and a £1.2 million cash boost from the
school formally becomes part of The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT)
on 1st October after a year of being supported by the multi academy
trust. TPLT has a strong track record of helping to improve schools.
Principal Nathan Jenkins said: "We look forward to meeting
parents, carers and grandparents to our Open Evening. We want this
schools journey to be a whole community moving forward together,
including our wonderful feeder primary schools."
King Alfred School Open Evening takes place on Thursday 20th September
at 5pm until 7.30pm, with talks by the Principal at 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
