The date of an inquest into the sad death of a man who went missing from Burnham-On-Sea for two months has been announced.

The inquest into the death of Dean Tate, 40, a father of six, is scheduled to finish on October 9th.

Dean was reported missing after leaving the Somerset and Dorset pub in Burnham High Street on the evening of Friday February 23rd.

Police officers worked alongside local emergency services for two months to search for him. Local residents also joined the search.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed on April 21st that the body of Dean had been recovered from Stert Island, off Burnham-On-Sea, by officers working with Burnham Coastguards and BARB Search & Rescue.

His funeral was held on Friday May 11th at Sedgemoor Crematorium when family and friends say an emotional farewell.

Sarah Reeves, Dean’s partner, described him in a trubute as a “handsome, kind, funny” fiancee.

She wrote: “He was so amazing and such an amazing father and friend. After everything he went through in life, and he still came out as amazing as he did, he was one special man.”

“I want to thank each and every person that helped with the search and the fundraising for the reward.”
