Burnham-On-Sea Harriers Running Club members achieved some strong results in the Glastonbury Road Race and the Wells 10k.

The club, which organises the weekly Parkruns at Apex Park in Highbridge, says its members showed a great presence, commitment and strength at the Glastonbury Road Race around the Tor and the Wells 10k Fun Run.

Proving that running is for all ages, four of the Harriers youngest members, Harriet Hobbs (10), Oliver Tiley (8), Isla Barnett (11) and Ria Tilley (12) ran the 3k race in Glastonbury, achieving good times, while Sue Nichols achieved a world class age grading of 91 per cent at the age of 72.

Demonstrating great team spirit and encouragement for all levels, experienced runners Nichols, Lauren Civill-Holt and Tracey Thomas achieved the third fastest team prize at Glastonbury, while newer members of the club were enthusiastically encouraged across the line in competing in their first-ever 10k race.

If you enjoy the Burnham park run and would like more information about the Burnham Harriers, it can be found at http://www.burnham-on-sea-harriers.com or search Burnham-on-Sea Harriers on Facebook.

The club meets on Tuesday evenings at 6pm for a four-mile social run and then at 7pm for a slightly longer run. Both runs start and finish at the Bay Club.
