A Burnham-On-Sea couple has celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with members of a community group close to their hearts.

Terry and Yvonne Cornelius celebrated their golden milestone at Burnham-On-Sea Moose International Lodge 123’s meeting this month.

Terry said: “We have been married for 50 years, 48 of which we were Moose International members.”

They were presented with potted roses, and a cake was cut in their honour.

Over the years, both have been involved in the care sector in one way or another, and Terry’s association with Moose has involved being lodge governor several times, plus he was also a member of the Moose International Grand Council for two years, shortly before the huge re-organisation of Moose International UK.

Terry has always been in the forefront of fundraising and has raised many thousands of pounds over the years for different groups, under the umbrella of Moose International.

Yvonne has been equally-social minded, supporting Terry and the Moose International Ladies Circle in numerous projects. She accepted the role of Lady President more than once.
