Photos & Results: 2018 Burnham-On-Sea Spring Flower Show

Recent wintry weather hit the number of flower entries at the annual Burnham-On-Sea Horticultural Society Spring Show on Saturday (March 10th).

While organisers said the event at Burnham's St Andrew's School had been "a success" with around 150 entries, the spell of snow and ice at the start of March made an impact.

Show Secretary David Bryant told "The recent cold spell meant that it was only the experienced growers who got the daffodils ready in time - many had to be taken inside and given extra attention."

He added: "That said, there were some great entries again, with some superb local floral and domestic entries."

Paul Ware, pictured at the top of the page, won the coveted trophy for the best entry in the show. In addition to flowers, the entries included gardening, cookery, floral art and photography classes.

Brian Musgrove, below, amused show visitors with his entry for a 'flower arrangement in an unusual container' by finding a new use for a hot water bottle!
