Three people injured in serious accident on A370 at Lympsham

Emergency services were called to a serious two-vehicle accident near Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday evening (March 29th) in which three people were hurt.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the A370 at Lympsham shortly after 6.20pm.

A fire service spokesman said: “One fire appliance from Weston and one from Burnham-On-Sea were sent to a report of a road traffic collision.”

“On arrival crews confirmed that the incident involved two vehicles and that three persons were trapped.”

“Working with paramedics, fire crews released three persons using various heavy rescue cutting equipment. The casualties were then taken to hospital via ambulance.”

The A370 Bridgwater Road at Lympsham was closed in both ways and traffic was diverted around the scene by Burnham-On-Sea Police through the evening.

The Great Westerm Air Ambulance also flew in to help patients.
