Burnham-On-Sea’s Burnbridge Wanderers invest in more local referees

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Burnbridge Wanderers FC are investing in local grassroots football by helping to fund more referees.

Ben Adams, Burnbridge Wanderers Vice Chairman, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “With the growing lack of referees in local grassroots football, our Burnbridge Wanderers committee decided to support any of our players wanting to do the refereeing qualification.”

“We are supporting young referees that play for our club by paying for their referee courses out of our club reserves in order to encourage them to give back to local grass roots.”

He added: “We actively encourage our Under 14s and older to take on refereeing themselves and pay for the course up front which we then cover when the individual is fully qualified and has completed his or her required allocation of five games.”
