2018 Brean Rally brings action-packed racing to village
Newby and Andrew Leach stormed to a second consecutive victory in
their Subaru Impreza at the 2018 Brean Rally over the weekend.
teams from across the UK headed to the two-day rally, which was
held for a 22nd year at Brean Leisure Park.
was plenty of drama for the spectators, with several cars failing
to finish the 12 gruelling stages - and Saturday's wet weather added
to the excitement.
to Burnham-On-Sea.com, rally winner Arron said: "This is our
second win in two years here so we're delighted to have won!"
organiser Rod McKenna told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had gone
really well and thanked the spectators, marshalls, teams and sponsors
for making the 22nd event another "success."
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "It was a successful weekend, although
we were significantly down on entries this year for the first time
in 17 years. We had 72 entries, so we were down 20 entries on previous
years, mainly due to the economic situation."
were really pleased overall though - it was a wet rally on Saturday,
dry on Sunday, and the best man won!"
awards were presented by Burnham-On-Sea's former MP Tessa Munt at
a prize ceremony at the leisure park on Sunday evening, pictured

of South Western Motor Clubs, Association West Midlands Motor Clubs
