Brent Knoll village fete promises an afternoon of traditional summer fun

Brent Knoll village fete will be held this Saturday (June 9th) with a great line-up of entertainment and family fun.

There will be plenty of activities for all ages, including entertainment from the Brent Knoll School dancers and the Chalice Morris Men.

“The theme this year is pirates, which should give everyone a lot of scope for dressing up and for decorating stalls,” said a spokesman.

“There should be plenty of activities for all ages and we are looking forward to a visit from the King Alfred’s Concert Band, plus our regular and delightful visits from the Brent Knoll School dancers and the Chalice Morris Men.”

There will also be cakes, a barbecue, cider, a Pimms stall, books, flowers, plants and a tombola plus raffles.

The event starts at 2pm on the village green with an opening by Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Mayor Bill Hancock. It runs through the afternoon. Entrance by programme £1 (Children under 14 years free).

There will also be a baking competition for children up to 14 years old. the categories are Victoria sponge, six pirate-themed cupakes, and biscuits. You can enter all three categories for 50p per category. Bring entries to the Nutall Rom in the parish hall from 1.30pm.
