beach road re-opens after storm damage is repaired
beach's access road has re-opened after council contractors carried
out repairs and rubbish clearance following last week's storms.
and concrete were washed away from around the road's surface, leaving
a sharp drop at the end that could damage vehicles. Large amounts
of rubbish were also washed up. Several damaged signs have
also been repaired.
District Council, which oversees the beach car park, closed the
road for five days to allow contractors to carry out repairs and
of the concrete and sand surrounding the roadway was washed away,
leaving deep, sharp edges where vehicles could damage their tyres
or their sumps," a council spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
