A Burnham-On-Sea business owner has been named The Federation of Small Businesses’ Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the South West.
Shaunessy Abrahams oversees Sedgemoor Caravans, established in 2016, which is one of the newest caravan dealers in the UK.
With a rapidly growing customer base throughout the West Country, Midlands and South Wales, 2018 will see them move into the motorhome trade.
Shaunessy started the business at the age of 19 whilst working for his parent’s business, West Country Park Homes Ltd.
He was completing a ‘fencing job’ in Berrow when the opportunity arose to buy a caravan from a co-worker. Shaun quickly sold the caravan on and realised the potential for his future business.
After just 11 months of trading Sedgemoor Caravans have also recently opened a brand-new Service Centre near their showground at Edithmead Leisure and Park Homes.
Shaunessy said: “We’ve had an absolutely grand first year with a strong turnover that has by far exceeded even my expectations. I have a great team working with me and this award is as much theirs as it is mine.”
“It has been great to have received such support from the FSB and we are very much looking forward to the year ahead.”
Shaunessy has also been invited to attend the FSB ‘celebrating Small Business Awards National Final’ later in the year.
