Burnham-On-Sea store kick-starts Berrow kung fu club’s fundraising

-

Burnham-On-Sea shoppers raised hundreds of pounds for a Berrow-based Kung Fu group’s fundraising campaign on Saturday (January 21st).

Youngsters from the Fei Lung Kwan Kung Fu club held a successful bag packing session throughout the day at Burnham’s Tesco store in Ben Travers Way, as pictured here.

The group’s leader, Patrick Barber, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We thank all the Tesco customers who supported us on Saturday – we are raising funds in order for the club to go to the National Fei Lung Kwan national junior championships in September in Berkshire.”

“Attending the event costs us around £1,000 once the minibus hire, fuel and overnight accommodation are included. It is such an important event for us to attend, putting our local club on the ‘national map’.”

He said the bag packing is one of several fundraising activities held through the year.

“We always get lots of positive feedback from shoppers, with people saying how impressed they are with how polite and helpful the children are.”
