Met Office is warning that bitterly cold conditions will move southwards
from Wednesday evening, bringing freezing winds, ice and potentially
sleet and snow.

predicting wind gusts of up to 55mph in exposed coastal areas.
The snow warning area was widened this afternoon (Tuesday) to include Burnham-On-Sea and the whole of Somerset, although forecasters stress that there remains uncertainty about exactly where
snow will fall.
chief forecaster for the Met Office said: "A cold airstream
will be in place by Thursday afternoon, bringing occasional snow
showers. Two to five cm of snow is possible."
