An internationally-renowned artist who is known for his displays of snow art switched his attention to sand when he left his mark on Brean beach this week.

Simon Beck spent six hours creating a huge 180-metre circular design on the sand next to Brean Down, as pictured here.

Simon told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I spent two hours measuring the design and then four hours to complete it with 123 pointed stars.”

“I’m used to creating art in snow but the hard sand here is perfect. I’ve received lots of positive feedback from walkers and holidaymakers through the day.”

He added: “It’s so rewarding to look down on the finished work from the top of Brean Down when it’s finished before it gets washed away by the tide.”

Simon, who has appeared in the national media for his work, intends to publish a book this autumn featuring some of his best designs.
