Man who died in fall at Highbridge rail station is named

A man who died on the railway line at Highbridge and Burnham railway station earlier this month after falling from a bridge has been named as 30-year-old Matthew David from Highbridge.

Detectives from British Transport Police investigating the circumstances which led to the man's death at Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea station on April 2nd have classified his death as 'non-suspicious'.

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Jacqueline Thomas, said: "A death of a family member is utterly devastating and our officers continue to provide support to this man’s family."

"Since the incident occurred, our detectives have carried out a number of enquiries and we are confident there are was no suspicious circumstances which led to this man’s death. We will now be preparing a file for the coroner."
