Burnham-On-Sea pet shop to close down as owners retire this month

A Burnham-On-Sea pet shop is set to close down this month as the owners retire after 23 years of business.

Alan and Carol Rose, pictured, are shutting Animal Fayre in Victoria Street at the end of January.

Alan told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We are both in our 60s and now is a good time in our life to make the decision to retire."

"It's a decision we've taken with mixed feelings. It will be nice to retire but we will miss our customers and thank them for all their support over the years."

He added that the shop is holding a 50% sale and may close sooner than the end of the month if the stock goes.

The couple, who live in Burnham, say they have no specific plans for their retirement. "We are staying in Burnham and will still see our former customers out and about."
