An afternoon of heavy rain showers failed to dampen spirits at a May Fayre in Brent Knoll on Saturday (May 20th).

Villagers Michael and Margaret Smith, who organised the event in aid of St Michael’s Church, moved the event into the Parish Hall to beat the weather.

And the local community group from Brent Knoll showed its support for the event, raising £660 for the church.

They enjoyed live music from Jazzical Swing, children’s activities, stalls, cakes and games plus competitions. A group called ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ also served up cream teas and cakes.
