Burnham-On-Sea's Marine Cove gardens to host May Day celebration

Burnham-On-Sea's Marine Cove gardens will come to life on Monday 1st May when a traditional May Day celebration is held.

The event will take place from 11am to 1pm with entertainment and activities for children to take part in, including a Fairy Hunt and Floral activity.

Kicking off the event off at 11am will be the Chalice Morris Men who will be dancing in the garden, followed by May Pole Dancing by St Josephs School or Country Dancing and music by the King Alfred Youth Brass Band.

To celebrate May Day there will also be free craft activities for children, including flower making and plant pot decorating, plus a fairy hunt with a reward for those who complete the challenge.

Green Flag award-winning Marine Cove is located next to Burnham's St Andrew’s Church on The Esplanade and plays host to many free activities throughout the year.

The free event is run by the Friends of Marine Cove and Sedgemoor District Council.
