Talented pupils at Highbridge’s King Alfred School displayed a wide range of innovative ideas during a special Product Design Exhibition this week.

The work of 100 students went on display at the exhibition, which was visited on Thursday evening by local dignitaries including Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Mayor, Cllr Michael Clarke, who is pictured here with Head Teacher Denise Hurr and Chris Standford, the Head of Design and Technology.

Chris told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The exhibition featured the work of our GCSE and A-Level students who made a wide range of designs using textiles and resistant materials. Our students have designed and manufactured some fantastic products this year – their work has been impressive.”

The Mayor said he had been “very impressed by the high standard of the items on show”, adding that the exhibition had been a great showcase to encourage up-and-coming young designers.
