Burnham-On-Sea runner returns from New York after 54th half marathon

-

A Burnham-On-Sea runner jetted off to America to take part in the New York half marathon at the weekend.

Jason Vickers, who works at Burnham’s Tesco supermarket, has raised over £23,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society since he started running.

He completed his 54th half marathon in a time of two hours, 47 minutes and 27 seconds.

The plucky runner, who suffers from Crohn’s Disease, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I really enjoyed taking part, and seeing the sights of the likes of the World Trade Centre and Central Park.”

“It was bitterly cold and there was snow on the ground but it was great. Everybody was so friendly and I would like to go back again soon.”

Jason has raised a huge £23,430 for MS Society so far and thanks all those who have supported him.
