One fire crew from Burnham-On-Sea was sent to reports of a chimney on fire at a property in Highbridge’s Church Street on Tuesday evening (January 17th).

On arrival, soon after 8.50pm, crews confirmed the chimney was well alight and got to work extinguishing the fire from the hearth.

Firefighters removed wood and used a thermal image camera to check for any fire spread.

The crews also tackled the fire from the roof using a triple extension ladder and a roof ladder using safety at height gear.

Duty of care was left with the occupier and crews left the scene after 10pm.
