Fans of Batman, Star Wars, Superman, and other comic book heroes will be heading to Burnham-On-Sea’s first ever Comic-Con today (Saturday, August 19th).

Excitement has been building for the new event, which will be held at Burnham-On-Sea’s Baptist Church in College Street from 10am-5pm.

Jade Parkes, organiser of Burnham Comic-Con, pictured below, told Burnham-On-Sea.com that there’s been interest from across the country in the event.

“We’ve got some great special guests appearing including Alan Flying, Ian Furey King, Simon Fisher-Becker, paul Grist, UK Negan, Matthew Dale and MK Garrison and a lot of fun activities through the day, so it will a superb family event for all,” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“There will also be comics, props, artists, merchandise, face painting, stalls and more.”

“There will also be a chance for visitors to meet special characters and have photos with Pikachu, Spiderman and Doctor Who – plus a 35ft marshmallow man!”

She said: “We hope that this is just the first of an annual event that will be enjoyed by people in Burnham and will draw visitors into the town.”

Entry will cost £5 for adults, £3 for children, with under 5s free.
