A fundraising film screening is to be held in Burnham-On-Sea on Monday (January 16th) for charity.

Burnham-On-Sea’s Ritz Cinema in Victoria Street will screen the award-winnng comedy-drama The Dressmaker starring Kate Winslet.

It will raise money for the South and West Somerset MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association), with doors opening at 1.30pm and the film itself starting at 2pm.

Tickets cost £5 per person and there will be a separate raffle after the screening for the charity. Tickets can be purchased on 01278 785465 or at the cinema.

“Motor Neurone disease is a totally debilitating disease at the present time,” said a spokesman for the charity.

“The association can help with advice, a person to ask questions of, meetings for carers and patient, and most of all, fundraising to help provide specialised equipment that the NHS cannot provide if required in a short space of time.
Much research is ongoing, again this requires funding.”

“Classed as a rare disease, almost everyone has heard of someone who has suffered from MND. At any one time 5,000 people have MND in Britain.
Please come to the film and help the local branch.”
