New chocolate kebabs craze comes to Burnham-On-Sea cafe

-

A Burnham-On-Sea cafe and grill has become the first in the region to start selling a unique new sweet kebab.

Relish in Burnham-On-Sea’s College Street unveiled their new chocolate kebabs on Saturday (May 27th) to coincide with the town’s Food & Drink Festival.

Former MP and Liberal Democrat election candidate Tessa Munt was invited along to launch the new product in Burnham, as pictured here.

The treats comprise of a sweet warm crepe, filled with fruit such as strawberries and cherries, topped with Italian chocolate shavings from a spit and toppings including salted caramel pieces and sprinkles.

Jane Jenkins, the co-owner of Relish, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re delighted to be the first to bring chocolate kebabs to Burnham-On-Sea – they are part of a brand new ‘craze’.”

“We hope these will bring more people into Burnham town centre, helping other businesses too – they are really new and exciting.”

“They taste amazing and the feedback we have been getting has been very positive.”

The first customer, Alan Calaminus, said at Saturday’s launch: “They’re delicious and completely different to anything I’ve had before. I really enjoyed my chocolate kebab with plenty of fruit and I’ll be back again soon for another!”

The chocolate kebab ‘craze’ is just kicking off with shops in Swansea and Bournemouth already selling the delicious treats, which are priced from £3.50.
